Shine Bright: Making Your Business Stand Out

There are many factors that combine to affect footfall into a business.  The actual location of your business, its accessibility, its parking facilities and a whole host of other things may contribute to a low footfall.  Equally, though, it could simply be that passersby don't notice your business.  However great your storefront looks, and however good the business looks once a customer crosses the threshold, it still won't necessarily guarantee that potential visitors will look up and take notice as they walk by.  Differentiating your business from the others around it can be difficult — but it doesn't have to be.  Advertising your store's presence with a light-up sign is a tried-and-tested way of attracting attention.  Here are just a few reasons why this could be a great option for you, and things you should consider when choosing one.

Low Output, Continued Return

Unlike marketing efforts, which are expensive and only run for a limited period of time, attaching a lit-up sign to the front of your store is a one-time purchase that will pay dividends for the foreseeable future.  Signs are easy to maintain, and if any breakages should occur, they're also easy to repair.  As such, your sign may well last as long as your current branding.  The only additional cost you need to think about is the additional energy output required to run the sign - but this is negligible.

Neon or LED?

People often default to purchasing neon signs when they're choosing a way to illuminate their storefront, and with good reason.  Neon signs are eye-catching and exciting, and can be more vibrant than their LED alternates.  However, LED signs are much sturdier, as they're not made out of glass and cannot smash as easily.  Which option you choose is up to you; both will draw the eyes of people walking past, and both are versatile options suitable for a wide variety of signs.

Size

Decking out your entire storefront in neon or LED could get expensive, but would definitely draw the eyes of those passing by.  Why not illuminate your entire business's name?  At night, nothing will hold a customer's eye quite like an entire brightly-coloured display.  However, for a more conservative and budget-friendly option, opt for a smaller sign that sticks out from the doorway.  This will still attract passers-by, both up close and from a distance, without breaking the bank.

Whichever style and size of sign you choose, you'll be making a worthwhile investment.  Nothing beats increasing the footfall into your business — and if you can do that just by passively pointing out its existence on the street, then all the better for it.
